Fabric question!

For an upcoming zombie walk
I was hoping to do a sort of deconstructed look, with fraying ruffles and the like.
What sort of fabric would you recommend? I don't want anything see through
[I have no idea about fabrics, i just sorta go, but this time I want some guidance first..]

and by fraying i mean intense like ripps and almost falling apart but not quite. Im not sure if you can get this affect on all the woven kind... [i really have no idea and I'm tired.]

TWO projects..... here we go!

Project Title: Etsy Commission (High Waisted Suspender Skirt)
Short Project Description: Black high waisted skrit with shirred back, optional bustling, and removable suspenders

Materials needed: Elastic, black fabric, 4 big buttons
Challenges or obstacles: None predicted

Project Title: Strawberry Sweety JSK
Short Project Description: Simple sweet-heart bodice, optional halter or just regular straps, eyelet lace.
Projected Deadline: End of the month
Pattern(s) Used: McCalls 5546 view C
Materials needed: Elastic, cotton strawberry fabric, eyelet lace, maybe some ribbon too
Challenges or obstacles: First time shirring a dress... here we go :P

Project name: Pinstripe Recon and Vest
Progress: 30%? The jacket is finished but that was the easy part. I think I've decided what vest pattern I'm going to use but I still have to make a mock-up and then make the vest itself
Problems encountered that halted progress: none so far...
Ways considered to solve the problem: n/a

Yes, I just heard Soul's voice in english.
Funimation! just released a new Sould Eater Trailer.
In the end of the video, like, the last 5 seconds, English!Soul says: "And now, I will take your soul."
It's actually not that bad. Well, way better than expected, at least that's what I think.

Project Title : Golden corset top
Short Project Description: A strapless corset or corset-ish top made from pale gold glittery fabric.
Projected Deadline: No fixed date, but I'm planning to have it done in 2 months max. I'm posting it here to prevent myself from procastinating and eventually forgetting about the fabric I already bought, like I tend to do.
Pattern(s) Used: I'm eyeing some of the corset patterns in GosuRori 12 but they seem to be all very frilly and I don't think it'll complement the fabric.
Materials needed: I found this gorgeous but OMGSHINEY cream and gold fabric when shopping for black fabric for the skirt and I'm planning to buy pale gold/cream satin for the lining and trim. I also plan on using plastic boning and matching satin ribbon.
Challenges or obstacles : I never made a real corset before (hence the plastic boning instead of the real metal deal) and I'm really afraid of ruining the fabric.

Project Updates Form (unregistered, sorry)
Project name: Little black pintuck skirt
Progress: (verbal description plus a percentage completion) 80%, needs some major ironing and I decided to add waist ties
Problems encountered that halted progress: I'm an idiot who manages to sew things on backwards/upside down for three times in a row, and then I spilled my full glass of ice tea all over it. Other than that, this was my first time making a half-elastic waist and it turned out way too large.
Ways considered to solve the problem: No solutions for me being a stupid goof, but I'm making waist ties for the too-large skirt.
Questions for the community: What would be a good way to attach the waist ties? My friend (who I'm making this for) requested them to be removable, but how could I attach them to the skirt without the skirt looking weird when they are removed?

I think I have found "THE" LxLight fic. It's just so perfect that....I can't really find words.

It's UBER-long, and it kind of drains your eyes (and brain) after reading 3 28-page chapters =A= It's really an AMAZING fic....

Anyway, I don't want to give too much of the fic away to those who haven't read. But it has over 2000 reviews, which is more than all my fanfics' reviews added together =д= It's LxLight, but after a while there's some MelloxMatt.

Warning: Well chapters 1-10 are pretty canon but after a while it's AU. Also, sad parts and guy smex.
Summary: It's kind of like DN mixed with fairytales, but actually it isn't as much of a crossover as you would think. It's more like, it's a DN story, with references and comparisons to different fairytales. It's not like L is suddenly wearing a Snow White dress and encased in a glass coffin. No, it's so much more than that. It's just...AMAZING. The ending was a bit sad, but it was also very beautiful. So please read it~ It's got a bit of humour spread out through it, and some depressing parts as well. But it's a wonderful read, so please give it a shot! ;D


Poison Apple

Just wanted to let everyone know, that a new version of MemcacheD has been released. We will be rolling this out to the memcache nodes during the week of July 20th to 24th. This should have very little impact on the stability of the website; however users may see a slight increase in load times as the cache is re-populated with entries.

The software has been tested and verified to be working just fine with the application; so we perceive this to be a very minimal risk in regards to updating, and the stability of the website.

I often forget to update the calendar because...well to be honest I've been busy playing video games in hot cars or hospital lobbies. Then I come home and sleep. ;_; Anyways. I am so lazy xD Yesterday was just BLEH. I was so tired. I mean I didn't go to bed till 6 am xD then I was up after sleeping badly at noon, and ppl were still over and we lazed about all day. I slept over 10 hours last night xD Too MUCH sleep so now I'm lazy...with this chocolate bar...yummy.

This is ridiculous. You saw how obsessed with Draco I was. I'm already reading  fanfiction again xD I am diseased or something. I can't survive without them LOL.

A Learning Experience has been recieved a lot better than I thought it would be. I'm glad. My One and Only of course got a big response lol. These are all oneshots though so it won't be updated as often. My main focus now is A Learning Experience. I have to have it done before college, I'm going to be so busy.

Me and Katie might go down to Reactor on saturday :D It would be nice to see awsome ppl (Lizzy and Crystal? mhm). Plus we'd only buy a badge for saturday so Sunday we could explore Chicago and hang out with Dee.

I miss Acen. *Random* I miss the envirnment and my friends. I wish I could see them during not acen. You guys need to come to Milwaukee now -_-
